This is the Proposed Ordinance which was written by both our Tribal Chair Phyllis Tousey and Vice Chair Jessica Ryan and sent to the Peacemakers on Sunday, 2/12/2023.
Phyllis has asked the Peacemakers to respond no later than 2/27/2023 for our comments.
We Peacemakers are carefully reviewing the proposed document and will have our decision returned to Chairwoman Tousey on or before 2/27/2023.
For those tribal members who might not be able to read this proposed ordinance on our Tribal website, I am also posting this on the Brothertown Indian Nation Facebook page.
The reason I’m posting this proposal is that it will affect all of our tribal citizens not just the Peacemakers.
We invite all members to comment directly to the Peacemakers at peacemakers@brothertownindians.org no later than February 23rd, 2023, so that we continue our transparency and inclusive approach.
Just to remind all enrolled tribal citizens that the February Council meeting is this Sunday, 2/19/2023 at 9 am Central time zone. If you would like to participate, please contact Councilman Seth Elsen for the link to be let into the Council meeting.
